Shadow justice secretary the shadow minister has labeled the circumstances as a "total shambles," commenting earlier today.

Speaking during a radio program, he pointed to comments made by the justice minister following a previous inmate discharge, stating that the minister would establish stricter verifications.

"It took almost a week for the corrections department reportedly to realize this occurred" and inform the police, Jenrick explains, "who are now a week late in the search to find him."

The opposition figure condemns Lammy's performance during recent parliamentary questions and accuses him of a "total dereliction of duty."

Addressing mistaken prison releases in broader terms, Jenrick emphasizes that "each mistaken release [...] is unforgivable."

He admits there were such releases under the previous administration, but says the figure "has risen significantly" under the current government.

Calling for additional correctional facilities to be constructed, he continues: "The public want to see now are proper checks implemented."

"This represents a particular administrative failure by the justice department overseen by the minister," the opposition member says.
