Legal authorities have announced that a former physician now faces charges for performing assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
One senior CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The charges come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
